Case study: Fixed video projection installation – Valras-Plage (34)

In July 2019, Electroson Studio was selected by the company Spie – SOGETRALEC to install a fixed video projection installation in the Town of Valras-Plage.

Every night for more than 5 years, it projects a giant animated clock on the ground in front of the town hall, whose graphic theme is adapted to each event and each season of the year.

The projected clock features thematic elements of the season.

During the summer of 2024, the clock is in the colors of Olympic Games.

In October, it takes on the colors ofPink October. In March, the colors of Mars Blue.

During global conflicts, the city showed its support by displaying the colors of the different countries involved.

Normally, it animates the seahorse of the city's coat of arms.

Technically

The choice fell on a video projector Epson EB-L1715S of 15,000 lumens controlled by a media server Module Pi Nano which manages the rendering of the projected clock as well as theextinction and thepower management of the videoprojector via network using PJLink.

The equipment is integrated in a Proietta suitable for the video projector, installed by the company Spie – Sogetralec. This is ventilated and sealed against salt air, thus making it possible to maintain a ideal temperature and a hygrometry adapted to the criteria of the video projector.

The installation is connected to the internet, allowing it to be very easy to control remotely in order to update the media, modify the screening schedule, and monitor the status of the video projector and the media server.

In addition, we have provided the technical services with the various indications allowing them to carry out the regular maintenance equipment according to the manufacturers' recommendations, in order to guarantee the proper functioning of the equipment. Very simple, this mainly consists of maintaining the filters of the video projector and the box.
